What Our Free In-Home Water Test Covers

Our complimentary water test checks for key characteristics that affect your water quality. Whether you’re on city water or have a private well, this test helps you understand what’s in your water and whether treatment might be beneficial for your home or business.

Hardness

Measured in grains per gallon (gpg). Water hardness affects appliance lifespan, soap efficiency, and scale buildup.

Iron

Total iron content is measured in parts per million (ppm). If you have a private well, we’ll also determine whether the iron is ferrous (dissolved) or ferric (particulate).

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)

This measures the concentration of all dissolved substances in water, which can affect taste and system performance.

Coliform Bacteria (Presence/Absence)

In some cases, especially for private wells, we test for the presence or absence of coliform bacteria, which can indicate microbial contamination.

Chlorine

For private wells near farms or orchards, we may include a nitrate test. Elevated levels can come from fertilizer runoff and may pose health risks, especially for infants and pregnant individuals.

Nitrates

For private wells near farms or orchards, we may include a nitrate test. Elevated levels can come from fertilizer runoff and may pose health risks, especially for infants and pregnant individuals.

Please note: We are not a certified laboratory and do not provide testing required for real estate transactions or home loans.

Why Analyze Your Water

Both well water and municipal water can contain every type of contaminant listed above and more.

Testing your water helps you detect these contaminants. From there, you can find the right filter for your water that keeps it clean and safe to drink.
